The Performance and Learning Specialist II plays a critical role in enhancing employee capabilities and driving organizational performance within HawaiiUSA FCU. This position is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering comprehensive learning programs that align with business goals and regulatory requirements. The specialist will leverage data-driven insights to assess training effectiveness and continuously improve learning initiatives. Collaborating closely with management and HR teams, this role ensures that performance staff and management processes are integrated with learning strategies to foster a culture of continuous development. Ultimately, the specialist contributes to building a skilled, knowledgeable workforce that supports the company’s competitive advantage and compliance standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in learning and development, performance management, or instructional design within a corporate environment.
  • Proficiency in managing LMS (Learning Management System) platforms and HRIS databases.
  • Demonstrated experience in facilitating instructor-led training and/ or group coaching sessions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience in credit union, banking, insurance, or financial services experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of instructional design methodologies and training program development.
  • Experience with advanced data analytics tools to measure training impact.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance training specific to finance and insurance sectors.
  • Experience designing e-learning modules and blended learning solutions.
  • Advanced facilitation skills for large group and cross-functional training programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and facilitate instructor-led training sessions and workshops tailored to various employee groups, including management training programs.
  • Manage and maintain Learning Management Systems (LMS) and HRIS databases to track training participation, progress, and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with business leaders and subject matter experts to identify learning needs and develop targeted training initiatives that support performance improvement.
  • Conduct group facilitation and coaching sessions to enhance employee engagement and skill development.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics, and implement improvements accordingly.
  • Support the integration of performance management processes with learning and development activities to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Lead program facilitation efforts that promote knowledge sharing and continuous learning across teams.

The required skills are applied daily to design and deliver effective instructor-led training that meets diverse learner needs and business objectives. Performance management expertise is used to align learning initiatives with employee development plans and organizational goals. Proficiency with LMS and HRIS systems ensures accurate tracking and reporting of training activities and outcomes. Facilitation and coaching skills enable the specialist to engage participants actively and foster a collaborative learning environment. Instructional design methodologies guide the creation of impactful training content and programs that drive measurable performance improvements.

Minimum Physical Requirements:    

  • Sitting for prolonged periods at a desk working on a computer.
  • Talking on the phone, computer, and person to person or in meetings frequently.
  • Moving around the office. Traveling to various departments, branches, and off-site locations.
  • Travel to neighbor islands and the mainland on occasion.
  • Lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying up to 30 pounds on occasion.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and to handle other computer components.

Benefits and Pay:

The expected pay range for a Performance and Learning Specialist II is $57,679.63 - 80,000.00 per year.
